600 Bunkmates

Built in 1911, this concrete barracks building could house 686 men. By world war two, Fort McDowell has quarters for about 4,500 soldiers, including fourteen additional wooden barracks that once stood between the baseball field and this 600-man barracks. Sixty soldiers could sleep in each building. Other barracks were located at North Garrison and West Garrison. . This historical marker is Near Tiburon in Marin County California
