10th Avenue Masonic Cemeteries

The Thomas J. Wilson and St. Luke's cemeteries were associated with the Masonic lodges that once stood on this city block. The cemeteries have over 100 extant formal markers on the graves of civilians and veterans from five American military conflicts: the Spanish American War, World Wars I and II, Korea, and Vietnam. Collectively, these cemeteries are considered Meridian's largest African American burial ground. . This historical marker was erected in 2012 by Mississippi Department of Archives and History..
