1890 Menifee School
Built in 1890 on 1-1/2 acres of land donated by William Snoddy, the 2-classroom school joined a general store and blacksmith shop as the hub of the community. It served as an elementary and high school by day and civic meeting place at night with gas lanterns used for lighting. Miss Eliza Auld was the first teacher. A lightning strike damaged the belfry in 1916. The school served 63 years until the Menifee Union District was formed and Menifee Elementary built in 1952. The vacant building was lost to fire in July 1971. . This historical marker was erected in 2016 by Menifee Valley Historical Association. It is in Menifee in Riverside County California
